The 3GeV high-brilliance synchrotron radiation facility “Nano Terasu” is capable of visualizing electronic states that affect the functions of material using high-brilliance soft X-ray, and is expected to be used not only for academic research but also in a wide range of fields including industrial applications.
JASTEC completed the delivery of a cryogen-free superconducting magnet of 8Tφ100mm to Nano terase (National Institute for Quantum Science and Technology) along with a mount that allows horizontal sliding in this March. These devices are planned to be first used for the purpose of elucidating the peculiar electronic states that appear in low-dimensional electrons confined on the surface superstructures of rare-earth compounds.
