Overview

 The origins of our superconducting technology date back to 1964, when research on superconducting wires and magnets began at the Asada Research Laboratory of Kobe Steel, Ltd. 
 NbTi wire was commercialized in 1980, followed by Nb₃Sn wire in 1983. In the early 1990s, we focused our efforts on the development of superconducting magnets for NMR applications. In collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), we successfully completed a 750 MHz (17.6 T) NMR superconducting magnet in 1993. This was followed by the commercialization of an 800 MHz (18.8 T) NMR magnet in 1998. After the establishment of Japan Superconductor Technology, Inc. (JASTEC) in 2002, we delivered a 920 MHz (21.6 T) superconducting magnet to the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Japan in 2004. 
 The development and application of our quench simulation technology have played an important role in ensuring the reliability and quality of our high-field magnets. Building on the advanced technologies cultivated through the development of high-field NMR magnets, we now offer high-field superconducting magnet systems tailored for scientific research applications.
